This webinar will consider how to effectively assess and work with children and their families from refugee backgrounds. It will consider the physical, emotional and developmental issues for children and explore strategies to work with this group.
- A brief overview of Australia’s humanitarian program and context to working with children and families;
- Overview and discussion of application of the Foundation House Framework for Recovery;
- Trauma in children from refugee backgrounds; and
- Considerations of assessment and intervention with this client group.

Ideally participants will have completed a Foundation House introductory workshop or equivalent, though it is not required.
